Mary Maisey-Ireland, MS, is a life coach, editor, and ceremony planner who offers creative collaboration and practical support to clients, and practically anyone who strays into her life. She has over 20 years of experience as an executive and entrepreneur, including extensive employee and project management, educational publishing, and personal growth-related work.
Mary thrives on multiple simultaneous projects. She skillfully juggles holding the big picture, balancing head and heart, and attending to the details. Her career in educational publishing, student success, business consulting, and personal coaching has provided diverse arenas in which to exercise her passion for empowering others.
Mary spent 11 years on the management team of College Survival, Inc., developing student success courses into a nationwide phenomenon, which culminated in the self-published text becoming the bestselling college textbook in America. She then joined a team working to bring the same technology to middle school students. Both companies were sold to Houghton-Mifflin.
Over the last decade, Mary co-created and co-promoted a smoking cessation program via stopsmoking.com, consulted with a wide variety of businesses, worked with authors, and coached both personal and business clients. A masters degree in administrative studies and undergraduate degree in journalism round out her professional experience.
Recently, she was asked to list her greatest accomplishments. She could have chosen to list the expected answers such as being selected as an outstanding young business woman, leading a company at 29 years old, and other similar achievements. She responded as follows:
My greatest accomplishments are that I am loved by and in love with my husband of 20-plus years. I remain my childrens most earnest student. My personal evolution continues, and it is a surprising and mostly joyful journey. I love my work. I am passionate about its contribution, both to my clients and to me. My circle of friends and loved ones nourishes me deeply. I am blessed with good health. In short, life keeps offering me gifts and all I have to do is say, Yes!
Mary lives on 18 acres in the Black Hills of South Dakota with her best friend and husband, two gurus disguised as children, and an assortment of pets. She loves being in nature, good food, yoga, personal growth, bodywork, travel, musicals, and a good laugh (or cry).
